Wolverine World Wide Riverfront Development: Design Concept #3

Here is the third concept for Wolverine World Wide's proposed Riverfront Development that Visbeen Associates designed in partnership with GMB Architecture+Engineering. Unlike the other two concepts, this design centers around a new building for a museum that would take visitors through the "Wolverine World Wide Experience," outlining the history of the company and a product trail. With ample green space, this concept includes a mountain bike challenge course, wetland restoration for fishing and kayaking as well as an amphitheater for community gathering and events. It incorporates the new construction of a retail outlet and conference center building from design concept #2 adjacent to a new, permanent location for the Rockford Farmer's Market.

Wolverine World Wide Riverfront Development: Design Concept #2

The second conceptual design Visbeen Associates and GMB Architecture+Engineering created for Wolverine World Wide's proposed Riverfront Development involved tearing down the existing structures on the property to make room for a new retail outlet and conference center building. Just like in concept #1, the second concept integrated a retirement village, independent and assisted living facilities, a new home for Rockford's farmer's market, as well as a community pavilion and a riverfront bandstand for summer concerts.

Wolverine World Wide Riverfront Development: Design Concept #1

This time last year, as one of two finalists, Visbeen Associates Inc was asked to create three design concepts for Wolverine World Wide's riverfront property in downtown Rockford, MI. With their qualifications and expertise in large scale projects and sustainable design, we decided to join forces with GMB Architecture+Engineering for the task.

The first concept our team created involved renovating Wolverine's existing building for use as a retail outlet and conference center. The concept also included a retirement village, independent and assisted living facilities, as well as a community pavilion and a riverfront bandstand for summer concerts.
