Federico Babina Remakes Art As Architecture

art meets architecture in federico babinas archist series dezeen ss Federico Babina Remakes Art As Architecture amazing ideas Does an architect often view the planet through the lens of a developing? It would look so for Italian architect and illustrator Federico Babina, who has conceived of a series of illustrations in which iconic two-dimensional works by renowned artists are seamlessly translated into 3-dimensional works of architecture. Paintings and drawings by artists from Warhol to Richard Serra, Lichtenstein to Damien Hirst, get reconstructed, so to speak, in Babina’s Archist seriessome (Mondrian, Serra) lending themselves a lot more convincingly to architecture than others (Lichtenstein, Rothko). Nevertheless, we suspect that the artists Babina has chosen for his project would be just as amused by the possibilities as we are.
