Modest Elegance: The Scandinavian Loft

This Scandinavian loft is where modern edginess comes to play with elegance in a modest and quaint style. With the use of warm lighting and avant-garde furnishings, this tiny loft is far more than what it appears: its entrance is of luxury, yet true elegance found within its walls.

Corners and blunt edges can be a difficult issue to work around when there is restricted space, but luckily this loft tackles the issue with the classic mixture of dark flooring and light colored surfaces. Since there are funky protrusions in the wall, hanging decorations is unnecessary—instead, paintings, candles and every thing else are placed on the sills directly. Light, both in natural and unnatural type, is vital for maintaining this loft from appearing cluttered and tight so the asymmetrical placement of windows and warm lights is an interesting and useful touch. The kitchen region involves a black dining chair, and it is in this space that we find a tasteful play of colors, in the form of metal and silver toned furnishings (the fridge, oven, sink, and so on). The single window in front of the sink is straight oppposite of the window in the living room, thereby ensuring that the most amount of light floods the space. Books, decorative figures and other trinkets fill each and every crack and crevice possible, and the geometric edges makes organizing and decorating a rather creative (however not difficult) puzzle.

The living space is a quiet and calming location with white fur rugs and heavy use of wood in the furniture and flooring. A single can just envision spending lazy hours here, drinking from a hot mug of tea whilst enjoying the view or white-colored television.

Probably the most inventive room of all, nonetheless, is the bathroom, exactly where even the outer walls of it are distinctive in style: a washed-down wallpaper of books offers the impression of coziness, which tremendously contrasts the bathroom itself exactly where minimalism plays out greatest. Constructed in shelves for soaps, a delicate plant to decorate the area around the bathtub, and the latest in technology tends to make a rapid bath just before bed the greatest and most relaxing encounter of the day. The bedroom is tiny, but pale colored walls and bedding do their portion to liberate the space. Right here once more, we discover warm lights clipped over the headboard for pleasureful reading.

The loft also has its signature on the mini balcony outside, where the heavy use of dark-toned wood contrasts the luxurious cream hues of the marble table and cushioned couch that provides splendid views over the city’s pastel colored roofs.

This loft is exactly where the cosmopolitan can settle into peaceful simplicity at the end of the day. By keeping its style minimalist, this space provides absolutely nothing short of warmth, elegance and comfort all cozily wrapped into an urban bundle.
