Emeco’s Parrish Chair Wins IF Design Award

In an announcement made last week, Konstantin Grcic’;s Parrish Side Chair for Emeco has been awarded Germany’;s venerable iF Design Award in the Product Design category. A panel of 40 international designers chose the Parrish chair, Grcic’;s creation for the Parrish Museum on Long Island, for the honor, Emeco’;s second award in this category. In 2011, the company’;s 111 Navy Chair was singled out for the same recognition.

2010 Best in American Living Award Winners!

The Best in American Living Awards (BALA) has been a competition recognizing design excellence in the building industry for over 25 years. At the BALA awards ceremony this year (during the NAHB International Builders' Show), 59 winners were honored for their innovation and creativity in 28 different categories, ranging from best custom and spec homes to best remodel and community designs. Visbeen Associates received six BALAs, including the prestigious Best in the Midwest Region, which we have been awarded four out of the last five years of this competition!

American Residential Design Awards

PRESS RELEASE: The American Institute of Building Design (AIBD) announced the winners of the second annual American Residential Design Awards (ARDA) in Portland, Oregon, during a banquet held in conjunction with the AIBD 59^th National Convention at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront hotel, Saturday, July 11, 2009. The winners were chosen from over 100 proposed and finished projects submitted by 31 designers located in 17 different states and the District of Columbia.

Wayne E. Visbeen of Visbeen Associates, Inc., Grand Rapids, Michigan, won the prestigious 2009 ARDA Best in Show award.

The projects entered were the work of Certified Professional and Professional Members of the AIBD. Categories included, Working Drawings, Un-Built Designs, Multi-Family, Community Design, Published Designs, Sustainability, Renovations, Builder Models, Custom Luxury Home Designs, Best in Show and Designer’s Choice. Design Competition Chairperson, Michael Battaglia, was pleased with the event, “The entries were outstanding and the judges were impressed by the difficulty of choosing a winner in many of the categories.”
