The Stockholm-based gallery Jacksons, which specializes in 20th Century Scandinavian style, is currently featuring a mouth-watering exhibition of Alvar Aalto’s furniture. Encounters With Aalto, a collaboration with Artek, focuses on wood masterworks from the gallery’s own collection of rare and original furnishings by the Finnish fantastic, placed alongside vintage styles nevertheless in production by Artek—including timeless wonders A110 Pendant Lamp and Screen 100. Finnish artist Ola Kolehmainen injects a contemporary Nordic touch into the exhibit with a suite of photographic compositions featuring imagery straight inspired by Aalto’s operate. Encounters With Aalto will be on view at Jacksons in Stockholm through April 26th.
