Utopia & Utility was founded in 2012 by siblings Pia and Moritz Wustenberg and their purpose was to “combine the functional and the fantastical.” The pair creates handmade collections of beautiful vessels that mix glass with wood, metals, and pottery. The elements stack together to kind tabletop sculptures that are just breathtaking. We featured these Stacking Vessels a few years ago when Pia very first created them, but they appear to have expanded their line considering that then.
The Stacking Vessels are made up of 3 person containers that stack to kind the sculptural shape. 3 separate crafts are used during the approach to total each piece.
Stacking Vessels Small are produced up of two separate containers that combine blown glass and turned, organic edge wood.
Stacking Vessels Copper and Stacking Vessels Brass are produced up of blown studio glass and spun copper or brass as the base.
Transformed Stacking Vessels appear symmetrical from the front but when turned they grow to be asymmetrical.
The Huge Stacking Vessels are produced as restricted editions with 65cm high glass, copper/brass, and wood.
Adding Raku ceramics to the mix, the Raku Stacking Vessels have an uneven and crackled finish creating every single 1 exclusive.
