A 1950′s lighting design originally created for the Danish Navy has been reissued by the Danish lighting brand Louis Poulsen. The charmingly renamed Doo-Wop Pendant is an updated version of the original Søvaernspendel or Navy Pendant—a collaboration of Denmark’s Navy Buildings Department and the in-house style team at Louis Poulsen—a light fixture that became a staple of the nation’s Naval buildings, illuminating private offices and communal spaces alike.The Navy Pendant remained element of Louis Poulsen’s lighting catalogue by way of the 1980′s, soon after which it receded from view altogether.
